Introduction of LAKEMAT

Technical Data Sheet
LAKEMAT

CANALMAT

LAKEMAT is developed and manufactured by CETCO for water containment applications. It is a reinforced liner consisting of a self-healing water barrier media held between two carrier geotextiles, which are needle punched together and laminated to a HDPE geomembrane. Major applications for LAKEMAT include architectural lagoons, water storage impoundments, water recreational facilities, river & creek liners, fishponds and aeration ponds, etc.

Features
LAKEMAT is manufactured with a high quality water barrier media with, high swell characteristics. In a confined environment, the media create an impermeable gel layer when it becomes hydrated. LAKE Mat’s self-healing properties allow this liner to repair itself if it is punctured, to prevent leakage.

Advantages
This environmentally friendly product is made from natural minerals:
The mineral core of LAKEMAT will not deteriorate over time.

Unique installation method:
LAKEMAT is flexible and easy to work with. The self-sealing overlap installation can overcome uneven ground settlement.

Preparation of sub grade is minimal:
LAKEMAT can be installed directly on compacted sub grade.

Easy to install:
No special equipment is required. Easy to cut and install.

Can tolerate moist installation conditions and low temperature:
LAKEMAT can be installed on damp ground.
LAKEMAT also tolerates freeze thaw cycles and extremely low temperature (-32°).

Cost Effective:
LAKEMAT is the most cost effective liner material when evaluated on material cost, installation, and testing. The self-healing characteristics of LAKEMAT make the most liner material for high value water containment projects.

Outstanding track record of success:

LAKEMAT has been successfully used on high profile water containment projects in many countries world wide.

Installation Method
Install LAKEMAT on compacted sub grade. All sharp objects, rocks, and other debris protruding more than 1/2 inch (12mm) should be removed.

During the installation of LAKEMAT a forklift or crane can be used for large areas. Heavy equipment should not move over LAKEMAT after it becomes hydrated, LAKEMAT can easily be cut into pieces for covering small areas. When installed in irregular spaces use CETCO Waterstoppage media to seal overlaps and to seal walls, concrete structures and large rocks.

LAKEMAT can be installed on damp surfaces, but should not be installed in standing water.

After laying LAKEMAT, it must be covered with soil, sand, concrete or other confining media.
