Chengdu TianFu square subway station Chengdu Tianfu Square Subway station is the deepest station in China. The deepest section has 28 meters and 4 story-deep constructions. In addition, this station uses the largest quantity of Bentonite GCL ever used in China for subway station construction. The overall construction was completed by mid 2006. CETCO provided its superior Bentonite GLC products for this project. The total GCL used is more than 100,000 m2. GCL is mainly used in bottom substrate layers and the currently finished section with CETCO product has received excellent review by subway construction team and subway experts.
Shanghai subway Line #6 The Shanghai subway line #6 is located in Pudong's new district. It will service as one of the main throughways to the up-coming World Expo. Three sections of this route use CETCO’s superior quality Bentonite GCL. The net area of waterproofing is nearly 40,000 m2. The waterproofing project is expected to be complete by the end of 2006. Subway #6 is very complex, constructed of multiple intersections with highways and river beds. In addition, the depth of Subway #6 is much deeper compared to other subway systems with depth reaching more than 25 meters. The design of Subway #6 also includes a multitude of safeguards and multiple structural components like supporting beams, locking columns. The complexity of the subway design provides a good opportunity for CETCO to demonstrate the Bentonite GCL benefits and its full capability. Completed sections of Subway #6 with CETCO product has received excellent reviews by subway construction teams and subway experts.
Beijing Subway Line#5 #4
In order to meet the demand of 2008 Olympic Games and the growing city, there are 4 new subway lines being constructed in Beijing; they are Line #4, Line #5, Line #10 and the Olympic Line. CETCO is very proud to have been chosen to participate in the construction of these subway projects and show local designers the advantages of bentonite waterproofing technology. Line #5 is the earliest project to start construction, CETCO has supplied VOLTEX DS to over 8 sites on this line since last May 2004, including shafts, cut and cover stations and bored rock tunnels. The total delivery amount is over 120,000 m2. This project is nearing completion. We can see dry structure surfaces at all sites. Through more than 2 year’s application, VOLTEX DS is highly praised for its easy installation, self-healing, low permeability, permanence, and so on, by all parties of Beijing construction group. With the success at Line #5, CETCO was awarded contracts for 280,000 m2 of VOLTEX DS waterproofing for Line #4 and Line #10. These two new lines started in October 2004 and will be completed in early 2007.
