Solving challenging design conditions with engineered Geosynthetic Clay Liners
Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCL) are used in the construction of various mining facilities, including process solution ponds, heap leach pads, tailings storage facilities, stormwater containment, wastewater treatment ponds and closures. The service conditions in these mining applications are among the most demanding. Harsh environmental conditions provide a challenge to engineers designing the projects. In weather-sensitive, remote or high-altitude locations, GCLs allow more efficient installation than compacted clay liners. GCLs are an important component of mining liner systems because of the benefits they provide in cost effective construction, environmental compliance and cost saving reduction in process solution leakage.
